Palliative radiotherapy
Palliative radiotherapy targets the reduction of metastasis and growth. This makes a lot of sense in palliative medicine, especially when the tumor is located in a particularly bad position. For example, a closure of the rectum can be slowed down in this way. Our radiation systems, Novalis und Varian Silhouette, enable very safe, effective treatment that is gentle on the patient. Due to the extremely accurate radiation that is directed to a precisely defined target area, the radiation damage to healthy surrounding tissue can be kept to a minimum.
Palliative chemotherapy
It is the goal of this form of chemotherapy to slow down the spread of the illness and to alleviate the suffering of the patient. A course of chemotherapy can be combined with a simultaneous course of radiotherapy at our clinic. In most cases, the chemotherapeutics are administered at clearly defined intervals during the radiotherapy sessions.
